Words of wisdom from a member of Indian Country's intellegensia

Was having a discussion with one of Indian Country's most astute and intelligent voices and he graciously told me I could share his words. The video isn't his. When I asked him to tell me what he thinks of these riots.

I hope they become larger, better organized, and networked. This is what happened in France in 1789. There is no cure for what ails our country. We cannot use this system to correct the flaws in this system. Which is why, beyond your local election, voting is pointless. It just validates a corrupt process of limited choice controlled by a rich and powerful elite. Throughout history, these types of riots are the spark that ignites into a groundswell of populist determination to bring down the corrupt prevailing order. Don't think this one will do that but like Occupy Wall Street it is a harbinger for the upheaval that can end plutocratic rule in our country. Rebellion is better organized, Davi. But once the unrest hits the streets, there is always looting, always buildings burning, so the best we can hope for is that the organization will be comprehensive enough to limit it. Also, people must be aware of agent provocateurs, because the police in Minneapolis immediately had them at the protests to make the protestors look bad.

The prevailing order has gone to a lot of trouble to ratchet this society hard right, and they do not appreciate the proletariat forcing it back into the realm of social justice. In our society, proles are not communist foot soldiers, they are wage slave working stiffs. One good thing these riots have done is jar the proles out of their COVID 19 fear stupor, artfully imposed and masterfully exaggerated to keep us afraid and galvanized away from networking in our own interest around causes and ideas that directly threaten the existing social order of wanton privilege.

If you protest

WHAT TO DO AT A PROTEST.

Both tear gas and OC can straight up melt contacts onto the eyes if care cannot be reached in time, so if you head to a demo that has the potential of bringing LEO to the scene, do yourself and the medics around you a solid by doing the following...

*if you were corrective lenses, wear glasses instead of contacts... If you don't need either, bring a pair of shop goggles with you that can attach securely around your head

*bring water with you, and put at least some of it in a bottle w/a one directional nozzle that can be attached to your belt or your bag with a carabiner

*keep a fanny pack with any emergency meds you may need in it...bring along some aspirin and allergy meds, including an epi pen if you have access, and naloxone if you can get it

*tie some bandanas to your pack and stud the straps with large safety pins... In a pinch, clean bandanas can be used as tourniquets or slings for folks with arm, shoulder or clavicle damage. Safety pins can help you to make slings out of someone's own shirt on the fly.

*if you can get them, have a pair of gloves made for handling hot metals... We often see images of people tossing back tear gas canisters, but the consequence of that is twofold: tear gas canisters can cause 3rd degree burns if handled improperly, and said burns can trigger arrest when you go to seek higher care at area ERs. Either don't touch them at all, or get the proper gear to do whatever you feel is right in that moment.

In terms of arrest or worse, have a plan for how your family / next of kin / people who depend on you are to be notified. This is serious stuff, have your ducks in a row. Making hasty decisions that could affect more than yourself is reckless. Be smart.

Rioting in Milwaukee

     Another dead Black man at the hands of a cop. In the last 72 hours we have seen Amy Cooper threaten a man with calling the cops because he asked her to leash the dog she was abusing. 4 cops get fired but NOT arrested for murder. It was murder no argument.

This Target was supporting Minnesota PD and wouldn’t sell milk to tear-gassed protestors. So forgive me for not feeling bad for a billion dollar company that pays poverty wages with no benefits while it's CEO gets millions in bonuses besides his paycheck.

What spiritual is to me

What spiritual means to me. As you know I am like the least follower of anything The Sons of Abraham have to say. I'm also not superstitious so that leaves some Native teachings aside. Sorry I just don't think whistling calls out "evil" but I do smudge and have been known to lay tobacco if asked.

Being spiritual means respecting boundaries (yours and mine)

It means not being taken advantage of

It means allowing yourself to angry.

Injustice makes me angry. Police killings of Brown and Black family make me angry. Missing Native Women infuriate me especially because they are not investigated.

Rape makes me angry.

Talking big shit to me will get you a reply. You might not like the reply, you might even try to use White feminist language against me. You'll still get a reply and I will still pray for my people and family.

Green Party?

Seriously think about it. We need oh so badly in this nation a viable third party. President aside, down ballot seriously think about the Green Party.

Heavenly Pow Wow

    

Morning meditation 6:38. Got me thinking of the state of the world and what is to come. I think we need to carry some plain crystals and some dark stones, I'll ask wife what stone later. We also need to ask "Are you OK?" and frickin' MEAN IT. Social Distance but put up a sign, ask from your front door, the closed in porch. Mail carriers, food delivers, folks like that. I'm melancholy. Been dreaming of dad and Tiffany. We went to a pow wow and had fried bread and NDN Tacos from Delong's family booth. Spoke greeting to the sister they were busy,

We were watching mens traditional and Tiffany said she wanted to dance shawl or jingle. My heart broke when I said I would get some elder's to help I know just the two to help bring her back to the circle after a long time, Auntie Bea and the amazing  Daisy then it hit me that Tiff and Dad walked on. The pow wow disappeared and I looked up and saw the alarm. Now I'm kinda got a nervous/anxious/depressed/sad feeling. I miss my old man, When I get to heaven he and I will be telling jokes for WEEKS I have so many to share with him.......well this took a shit turn GOOD MORNING ALL!!!

Willing to be hated

       Political season, is there ever a break?, always ends up with me losing friends. Politically I am on the left but I am not one of those that think there are no good people on the right, there are people on both sides that have the exact same concerns about their lives and sadly most vote based on one source of information. How else do my elderly in-laws support an inept person like Biden, “Nothing will fundamentally change” as he says, over someone who offered medicare for all unless Rachale Maddow rad baited them into thinking Russia was attacking us and placed Trump in power ignoring everything that Trump has done politics wise that is against what Russia wants? Bernie went there on his honeymoon! SO what I went to Tennessee on mine what does that say about me? Am I now a Southerner with the love for the confederate flag and hate for “darkies”?
     People want freedom, they want wholesome lives for their children, they want safety they want good jobs and good pay. EVERYONE that is not a billionaire POS wants that, I used to think no one is 100 percent anything and I do believe that to the extent that I know for a fact that you cannot be a billionaire without having hurt a lot of people in the process. Oh you make grand gestures and you become a philanthropist but that is also because you don’t have to pay taxes. Are they 100% evil? Of course not, Trump is like 99% evil but he has pardoned some wrong doers, That’s a good thing. Running his racist mouth about Latino’s is bad, taking action in the potentially untapped business zones in poor areas is good. He’s a true 1%!
     Biden has not one single solution in sight, he promised to veto Medicare 4 All, he offers nothing but making fun of the village idiot. Meanwhile the village idiot is pillaging the economy and he has his supporters so confused they are storming the capital with guns and no masks in the midst of pandemic demanding they open fuckin Dave and Busters.
     This is what happens when you deal in absolutes and do not do your due diligence and think for yourself. You either go MSNBC or you go to FOX nothing is in between and if you say, “Tucker Carlson made a good point” you get blasted for sticking up for a right wing bigot. He is a bigot, no doubt but that doesn’t preclude him from making informed decisions and good points. I’m far from a fan of his, he’s a silver spoon hack like Anderson “CIA ANDY” Cooper.
     You have to be willing to be hated to stand n the side of right. Right now Tara Reede is the wrong side to be on and it happens to be that I believe her, and I have lost friends as the result of that. Here is what makes me different. I am more than willing to be hated but I am not such a big spiritual guy, I am spiritual enough for me as of this moment, that I won’t get right down with you if you come for me, Get caustic, sarcastic, illogical and willfully ignorant then come for me I will get as raw as an orangutans ass with you. I curse, I name call (I’m better at it than you) and I will do my absolute best to de-pants you verbally and intellectually so that you get something to either ruin your day or give you pause and something to think about. Ask Roland Martin how fast I blocked his bougie 10% phony neo-liberal bitch ass. (See?) Do I find that unbalanced? No, and I don’t eat granola either.
